Two weeks went by, days came and then went, so was the flow of time. On the morning of September 30th, the sun rose over the Hidden Leaf village like always but the temperature was far from that of an average September morning. Lee looked down at his new multitasking watch and shivered as he read the temperatue to himself. Fourty degrees celcius. He hunkered down in his casaco and pressed forward. A chill went through his body as a cold wind stirred what leaves were left on the trees. They're dead, Lee thought, they went early this year. He wiped his nose on the sleeve of his jaqueta and thought about Guy. Guy had noticed the dia before that Lee was getting ill from coming out every dia in the cold to see him at the hospital, so he had told Lee to take a dy off and stay início today. He couldnt. These may be the very last days that his sensei had to offer and he was not about to let him live them alone. He was at the escrivaninha, mesa of the receptionist now, with almost no recollection of even walking through the doors. "He's ready for visitors," the lady behind the escrivaninha, mesa chimed in her sweet childlike tone. She was an unusually small, fragile looking woman with the most beautiful blonde hair tha Lee had ever seen. She had the most charming smile that took some of the pressure off of Lee in this most dire situation. Since dia one of the diagnosis Lee had been in almost a daze like state that had him depressed almost all of the time, but something about having this woman smile at him with the utmost and sincerest kindness a human could give made that pain ease ever so slightly.

Everyone at the hospital was starting to seem like family to Lee. He had been coming in reguraly now for almost a mês and they all knew his name and face. As he walked down the hall towards room 102 several familiar nurses and medical ninja passed him waving, bearing their biggest smiles. He knocked three times on the heavy metal door and, not giving up respect or formality, quoted, "It is Lee reporting sir! Permission for entry requested!" The golden knob started to turn and the door opened slightly. Neji was standing in the doorway mouth agape. "Lee," he proclaimed, "I... thought you weren't coming today. Guy~sensei wasn't expecting you. Neji tried to shut the door but Lee refused to let him. "What...are...you...doing?" Lee questioned as the power struggle over the door errupted. It didnt last long and, as there was no answer from Neji, Lee was mais determined to find out why this was happening. With one gigantic heave the door flew open on Neji's end. The force of the blow knocked Neji off of his feet and he landed with a hard THUD on the floor. "Sorry Neji," Lee replied holding out a hand to help his comrade to an upright position. Lee then turned towards the direction of his beloved teachers' bed. For as long as he had been coming to this very room, he had never seen Guy looking so sick. Over the course of the visits he could tell that Guy's health had been deteriorating, but today...
Lee walked slowly over to the edge of the cama and sat down softly. Guy was sitting upright his hands clasped together over his chest and he was sleeping. Lee hesitated for a moment then with a burst of courage put his hand over the fragile, skeletal, hand that lie there limply over his sensei's muscular chest. He looked up at his mentor's sleeping face and it was at that moment that Lee noticed the bandages. Wrapped all around the topo, início of his sensei's head there were bandages. "He started the radiation today," Neji said softly, "He didnt want you to see him like this." Lee looked back at Neji, dissapointment burned in his eyes. "He did not think that i was....strong enough?" he questioned turning back towards Guy. "He has lost his hair..." Lee noted as he stared at the white bandages that adorned the crown of Guy's head, "But he did nothave to hide it from me." Why would he hide it from me, he thought, as he laid his head on Guy's lap. Did not we always share everything? Lee's entire world, everything he knew to be true to that point, now lay in shambles. He didnt know what to believe anymore. Was all that "exuberance of youth" talk a lie? Did youth even play a role in whether you live or die? Neji watched silently from the corner of the room, arms crossed and eyes narrowed. He studied the forms of their bodies with his pale, ghost like eyes. It hurt to see them both so still. The most active, lively, happy people in his life now lie in still lifeless blobs on a hospital cart. Sometimes it was enough to make him wish that it had been him instead. What was worse was the screams. The screams of pain that Neji heard during Guy's treatment. At least Lee would never have to hear them.....he would make sure of that. God why wasnt it him! "I think then you would be wishing mais pain on them then they're going through now." Neji jumped as his eyes caught the man sitting in a squatting position in the windowsill. "Im sorry, didnt mean to startle you," kakashi said stepping down onto the tile floor. This guy, Neji thought, where does he get off coming through people's windows. kakashi stood up and streched for a moment then, without warning, grabbed Guy's shoulder and shook him. "Guy, time to wake up! C'mon now we dont have all day, you have visitors." Neji and Lee looked at each other, disgust on their faces. "What are you doing!?" Lee exclaimed halfway shrieking. Neji immediately followed with "You have to let him rest!" kakashi looked at the two for a moment and contemplated. "You thought that Guy thought you weren't strong enough, Lee, but i am beginning to see it the other way around. Dont you think Guy is strong enough? I think its clear that the both of you have to have mais faith in you master...am i right? And you Neji, wishing it were you. What kind of wish is that, what would it solve?" Guy's eyes opened slightly as he heard the last of Kakashi's spirit filled heartfelt message. "Kakashi, you knuckle head,"he said as he looked up at his friends face, "Where have you been?"
