What makes a villain a good villain?

I've always preferred villains who can barely be called such, with sympathetic points of view, often very reasonable goals, and some level of honor or standards. Someone who will make you pergunta if you're really even rooting for the right side. Someone who will make you think about what it is that makes one side right. Someone who can expand your worldview, give you a new take on morality, and make you consider philosophy you never thought about before. A perfect example exists in one of my absolute favorito anime, Shinsekai Yori, but even naming that example could spoil the story.

from my point of perspective.........
heroes wont be born without villains

Nothing makes your hero mais heroic than a worthy opponent.

So don’t shortchange your villain. Spend every bit as much time crafting him as you do your lead character, if you want your story to work.


i like villains
1) who are unstoppable........
2) who can defeat an entire army alone........
3) who see the world from his or her point of views.........
4) who have his.her morals
5) who Try something revolutionary
6) who is worthy enough opponent to make your hero look good
7) who is clever and accomplished enough that people must lend him begrudging respect
8) who has many of the same characteristics of the hero, but they’re misdirected
9) who should occasionally be kind, and not just for show
10) who can be merciless, even to the innocent
11) who is persuasive
12) who stop at nothing to get what he wants
13) who he’s proud
14) who is deceitful

these r some qualities that makes a good villains in my sight..he he e

my fav villains who fill in all these qualities are

Sosuke Aizen (Bleach)
Madara Uchiha (Naruto Shippuden)

TL;DR there are several different ways to write a good villain, but just like any well written character, the villain has to be a well rounded and meaningful character. A good villain both makes you understand their point of view, and furthers the message of the story
