.hack//sign is a lot like it from what I have seen. Not so much .hack//Legend of the Twilight, that one is mais childish, still worth watching, but mais a shoujo than action.

Another animê that Is kinda a mix between the two categories is the world only god knows. Also I highly recommend shingeki no kyojin, guilty crown, and aldnoah zero. (Kinda funny I picked those since the ost's from those are all por the same guy). Another animê to be on the look out for is owari no seraph. The mangá is amazing and the animê is in production.
