Is it normal to be in amor with an animê character?

Well, think about this:

What's the difference between loving an animê character and being in amor with a celeberty? If people think crushing on a celeb is normal, crushing on an animê character should be normal :p

Yes it's normal. It's basically the same as being in amor with a celebrity. I'm currently in amor with Mikasa from Attack On Titan mostly from her personality and how cute she is.

No, being romantically attracted to a two dimensional drawing given a 3 dimensional personality isn't normal. I've seen several comparisons to celebrity crushes. While those aren't any better, there is a big difference, as Celebrities are real people, and though it'll most likely never happen, there's still the possibility you'll meet them and they'll fall in amor with you.

With Anime, your crush isn't real, doesn't exist outside of that Anime/Manga, and there is NO possibility of ever meeting them. They are just the product of somebody's imagination, so in that sense, you fell in amor with a product of someone's imagination that has no sentience, and cannot do anything unless their creator writes it.

I'm not telling anyone that they can't have feelings for an animê character, because it isn't my place to tell people what they can or can't do. I don't have that authority. But i do think that once you mover beyond a harmless crush on a fictional character, that you need to stop. You'll never be happy, because if your one true amor doesn't really exist, then you're only harming yourself por continuing to amor that character.
