What is your favorito animê genre?

I've decided that horror is mine. I don't get grossed out por gore or really care about it, for that matter, and it's nearly impossible to spook me, so ironically I don't even adore it as much as I do for its main theme in essence. BUT, I am in amor with the horror genre for animê specifically. No, not all horror animê are guaranteed to live up to my expectations for a good series in general, but the majority that I have come across have had such well-executed psychological aspects and hold messages that I genuinely appreciate. I revel in tragically philosophical gems like Shiki, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (as seen in the example picture). And, yeah, some of the "horror" moments can be pretty thrilling... the suspense does get me. :)

I think there was a similar pesquisa made...possibly por me...but whatever; I welcome the chance to revise my answer.

I choose supernatural. I absolutely amor low fantasy, and the vast majority of my favorito series has this genre in it, to whatever extent. But my tastes vary wildly, from the looks of it. In To aru Majutsu no Index, I amor the way it takes real life mythology, lore, and legends, along with scientific phenomenon and interprets them to create magic different from the normal aleatório fogo ball and such. Tokyo Ravens does an excellent job of using Onmyoudou as a concept, but that's all it does right. Type Moon series (the good animated media being Fate/Zero and Kara no Kyoukai) is probably the closest to the traditional sense of 'supernatural' of all of my favorites. One Piece is technically high fantasy, but the sobrenatural aspects, silly as they are, are easy to get comfortable with and become enjoyable parts of the series. Maouyuu Maou Yuusha and Spice and lobo hit the mark with capturing the essence of the time period without focusing on the sobrenatural while keeping it as an enjoyable factor. Katanagatari was very particular in what was sobrenatural and what wasn't (though the charm of the series came from something else). Lastly is Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizokin, which is mais adventure with some sobrenatural items involved. It might get mais intensive after the first eleven episodes, but the light novel hasn't been translated, which is killing me.

Basically, if it takes place in some time period in our world (with one exception) and it takes advantage of mythology and such and does it RIGHT, I'd probably like it. Of course, it is shockingly easy to do this wrong, as many series have. And god forbid people mistake sobrenatural as simply being horror or just adding in demons (I'm looking at you, Highschool DxD and Makai Ouji. Ugh.) So far, the best, in my opinion, seem to consistently include psychological themes along with other aspects that can't be summed up into a single name of a genre.

por the way, I recommend all of the series I mentioned above in a positive light, except for To aru Majutsu no Index. That doesn't get good until the 13th volume, where the animê ends. And there are 30+ volumes.

...Yeah.

For me its mystery. There's just something about not knowing that gets me hyped up, especially when you can try to formulate your own respostas and theories as to why certain things happen in the show or what will happen in the show. It all just captures my attention. Whether or not it has any action in it doesn't really bother me as long as it's centered around the theme of mystery and uncertainty.

I'd have to agree with exorcist and say the supernatural. I find it really inspires awe, and though it does so best with action scenes, it's something that can be incredible to watch even without such additions. All of the animê on my topo, início list - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Fate Zero, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, One Piece, Puella Magi Madoka Magica - involve very different portrayals of the supernatural, and I appreciate every one greatly. Sometimes the systems are defined, sometimes not so much, but they all share that sobrenatural quality.

Definitely fantasy. ALL of my favourite animê include this genre. :3 It's the same for me with any fiction, not just anime.

Well because these typically go hand in hand, I'll name two. Psychological / Mystery. I amor trying to work out what is going to happen seguinte and the significance of what the main character finds out the villain. I get so engrossed in the animê because I'm constantly trying to work out a character's persona or what might be the cause of certain events to play out as it did.

If I could make an RP with these two elements I would in a heartbeat.

It would either be mystery or fantasy/supernatural. I've always been a fã of sobrenatural and above-human themes.
I've relatively recently found a great appreciation for mystery genres though. If a series can leave my mind in knots and hit me with serious fridge logic then I'm in my element.

And another... XD

I'm probably going to be very different from everyone else and choose a completely different genre... since I noticed that everyone chose supernatural/fantasy styles, or close to. Mine would have to be adventure, or slice of life. For some reason, I've just really gotten into slice of life and really can't imagine what I if I hadn't started watching those kind of anime.

However, I will also admit that I wouldn't generally choose a favorito genre, since I amor animê in general, as long as they are well-written, then no problems.
