Which character is your favorito Antihero and Antivillain?

I'll provide some definitions to make this easier, though I think we all grasp the basic concepts. An anti-hero is a protagonist who is lacking the traditional heroic attributes and qualities, and instead possesses character traits that are antithetical to heroism. An anti-villain is a character in a film, drama or literary work who pursues undeniably villainous ends, but employs methods that are arguably noble in order to advance his interests. Thus, the anti-villain is the converse of the anti-hero, who frequently resorts to immoral means in pursuit of an admirable goal.

For me, I always like characters that blur the lines. Lelouch Lamperouge, Kurotsuchi Mayuri and Balalaika are the three antiheroes in my topo, início ten, and if I had to go with one, it would be Balalaika. Much as I like Lelouche, the mais I got to know him, the less I liked, and Mayuri has been fun from time to time but hasn't kept me as entertained of late. Balalaika kept surprising me, and she definitely is not a typical hero. I think specifically her encounter with Hänsel was just fantastic for showing how brutal she can be.

As for an antivillain, I think this is a little harder to define for me, though I think Kyubey fits the bill quite nicely. Giving a bunch of girls magical powers and furnishing them with wishes certainly seems like something that would appear to be noble. Of course, he ends up being quite the villain.

So, let me know what characters fit this for you all!

The antihero that must be mentioned; Emiya Kiritsugu. I am completely against his ideals and standards, and frankly, his karma owed him a lot mais than what he dealt with. But still, he displayed everything wrong with his ideals wonderfully throughout the course of Fate/Zero. Interesting character, pitiable end. As a wise person on a fórum once said when someone openly asked how to define a 'hero; "First, draw a large círculo and write 'hero' in the middle. Then, write Kiritsugu's name outside the circle."

I can think of a few other antiheroes that I love, but this textbox says what I'm composição literária is too long, so I'll focus on Accelerator. His debut wasn't the best in the world, though it was remade in a slightly better light recently. But once was introduced...well, a short overview will explain it: Accelerator was introduced as the strongest esper who was trying to become even stronger por killing 20,000 special clones. After getting his bunda whooped por the weakest character, Kamijou Touma (the main character who embodies EVERTHING I dislike) he suffered a major blow to his ego. The seguinte time we see him, he is forced to protect the 20,001 clone known as Last Order, getting shot in the brain as a result, barely surviving. Things happened, he developed a handicap with his ability, and he ended up joining an underground organization where he fought and killed for the higher ups in order to better protect Last Order. In the end, he ended up escaping to Russia for World War III in order to save Last Order again, Kamijou beats him up (again), he fights a Christian angel and an artificial angel, and crushes the underground organizations singlehandedly with black mail. However, a mês later, it becomes apparent the organizations have returned, and he resigns himself to crushing them all personally with violence. Nowadays, the fandom loves him and we look upon his debut in the Sisters arc fondly as we see how much he's grown.

Anti-villains...well, only two come to mind. First is Crimson Moon; a celestial body who came to Earth on the Earth's own request to stop humanity from destroying her. He created the True Ancestors, who are forces of nature that could wipe out the human race, and currently leads the Dead Apostle Ancestors, the powerful descendants of their significantly mais powerful and extinct predecessors. Basically, the Crimson Moon wants to save the world, but he'll wipe out the human race in a brutal manor in the process. Yeah...

Speaking of saving the World, Aleister Crowley wants to save humanity and has a long plan that has been in action since the beginning of the series and has probably caused everything that has happened in over thirty volumes in the course of four months. A LOT has happened, including death, betrayal, lies, revelations, (Accelerator is a major part of this, as are the angels, Kamijou, and MUCH more) and all we know about his goal is that he will save humanity por creating an artificial heaven.

So yeah, the man is insane. Smart, but insane. The stupid 'short answer' won't let me post my lengthy explanation of why I despise Kamijou...not that it matters. But yeah, all this is just brief summary. I'm talking about my two favorito series, so it would take pages to detail my opinions properly. In any case, I amor antiheroes because they cast aside all that I dislike in a main character and take in interesting aspects that make them worthwhile characters. Especially when done right....Oh, I forgot to reference the Megamind movie. If you haven't watched it, it was an animated movie from the perspective of a super villain. Enough said.

I just have to make a small ammendment for favorito Anti-Villain: Kaiki Deishuu from Nisemonogatari. This guy is unlikeable, cheap, excells at wordplay and sophistry, and cannot be BEATEN. He's a conman who sells 'fake' charms to middle schoolers and his logic is perfectly sound, as he is greasing the gears of the economy and giving these kids life lessons while satisfying their desires. But naturally, his morals are lacking and no amount of threats would stop him, though he retreated quickly when he saw himself being backed into a corner. Plus, it turns out later that he's the one who provoked the seguinte antagonist later on in the series, ironic considering he's supposed to be a 'fake'. Kaiki Deishuu is, without fail, a thoroughly unpleasant and depressing man who stands as the most well-done villain I have ever seen. That is all.
