It's hard for me to be certain. Cowboy Bebop occupies a special place for me - in my opinion, it still holds the prize for the best animê ending I've ever seen. It was truly impressive. However, I can't rank it highest. So the spot used to be occupied por Code Geass, a fantastic series that involved some amazing strategy and thought, with a very strong ending and an effective cast of characters. The segundo half had some pretty large plot holes, though. I still amor it, but I can't give that kind of series the best. So it comes down to a tie between Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Fate/Zero. After seeing the first Fullmetal Alchemist, I didn't see this series as being a possible winner. But then I read the manga, and watched it. Just a great series, consistent and fun with a lot of interesting turns and characters. The villains were spectacular without being overly "evil" (my favorito character was Solf J. Kimbley, guy's awesome), and the heroes manage to win not por overpowering but por outthinking. The ending was a bit simplistic but effective, and all was well done. Fate/Zero is another story, probably for taking mais risks. As an introspective anime, it was truly phenomenal. It included some of the best action I've seen in any anime, a cast of amazing characters, and it kept me guessing. Again, after seeing its predecessor (Fate/Stay Night) I was reticent to try this, but it proved that a prequel can be far better than the original. The mages were far mais interesting and badass and fascinating. The only faults I had with the series were the links to Stay Night, which probably just had to be there. Still, it's grand enough to warrant this picture.
