Chapter One

"Tell us a story, grandpa!" The young girl looked up to the old man.
Despite his age, Finn appeared to be quite young. He looked down to his grand daughter, TyLeena, then to his wife. "What do you think, Flara?"
Flame Princess smiled, "Another story would be grand."
"How 'bout you, Jake?"
The old dog looked down to see his son, Sparky, sitting seguinte to TyLeena.
"Why don't we tell them about the time we beat the Door Lord?"
"Oh, oh!" TyLeena said excitedly. "Grandpa told me the song he sung to open the door!"
"Don't ruin it for me!" Sparky pulled his friend down and put his paw over her mouth.
They quickly began to fight, rolling across the floor.
"They certainly do take after you two!" Flame Princess laughed.
"That's what troubles me," Finn said in a grim tone. He stood and began to climb upstairs, he motioned for the others to follow.
TyLeena and Sparky continued to play, unaware of the absence in the room.
"What's wrong?" Flame Princess asked.
"I'm afraid that the Lich has returned," Finn said quietly.
"What!?" Jake exclaimed.
"Shhh! Calm down! I'm worried, too," Finn sighed. "I thought the Lich would come after us, but since he doesn't age, he's still looking for two young adventurers."
"So, he'll come after TyLee and Sparky?" Flame Princess said. "But they're so vulnerable!"
"I know, but we need to train them to fight."
"What are we gonna tell them!?" Jake fumed. "'Hey kids, guess what? You're gonna fight to the death with an evil force!'"
"No, we're going to tell them that we're taking them on adventures," Finn explained. "We'll teach them how to use swords and other weapons."
"What if they hurt themselves?" Flame Princess asked.
"They won't," Finn said firmly. "I'll make sure of it."
Flame Princess felt like crying, "I just don't want them to end up like Fionna."
Their daughter Fionna, TyLeena's mother, had died fighting the Ice King. She was trying to protect her family. They never thought that the Ice King was capable of murder, until he sent a shard of ice straight through Fionna's neck.
"Finn? You in here?"
Finn hurried downstairs. Marshall Lee stood at the door.
"Hey, Marshall!" Finn greeted happily. "How's it goin'?"
"Good, good. Uh, hey, Lillianna wanted to know if it was okay for TyLee and Sparky to come over," Marshall said.
"Of course!" Finn answered. "TyLee, Sparky, there's someone here to see you!"
"Marshall!" They both ran up to the vampire, hugging him.
"Hey, kids! Lillianna's been wanting to see you!" Marshall said.
"You guys have fun!" Flame Princess said.
"TyLeena! Sparky!" Marceline hugged the two kids. "Long time, no see!"
"Lillianna!" Marshall called.
The young vampire ran outside. "Coming, dad!" She called back.
"So, how's life for ya?" Marceline asked. "No trouble with any monsters?"
The two children laughed. "Nope," replied Sparky. "We'd beat up anyone that tries to attack us!"
"Lillianna!" TyLeena ran to her best friend. "I'm so happy to see you!"
"Same here!" Lillianna said. "It's been so long."
"So, what do y'all wanna play?" Sparky asked.
"Let's play hide and seek!" Lillianna said.
"Good idea!" TyLee said.
Chapter Two

"Lillianna? Sparky?" TyLeena walked through the forest. "I don't think I wanna play anymore."
The dark was bothering her.
Something ran ahead of her, escaping into the shadows.
"Sparky? Is that you?"
She saw something shine in a bush. Cautiously, she investigated the plant.
A colar sparkled in her palm as it landed there. A beautiful onyx amulet on a leather cord. It had a strange symbol was carved on it.
A sudden flash and explosion pulled TyLee out of the trance the colar seemed to put her in.
A strange creature loomed in front of here. It's face consisted of torn flesh and scars.
"TyLee!"
Lillianna came into sight, Sparky following close behind.
"C'mon! Run!"
TyLeena was thrown into a void of darkness, a voice called out to her.
"TyLeena..." It said. "Come here, it's so cold. Aren't you cold, TyLeena?"
A pit of glowing green acid opened in the ground. "Step closer."
The amulet shot off the ground, hovering in front of TyLee. It produced a force field, surrounding her.
The voice was gone, but a new one spoke. "You must not be controlled por the Lich."
'Lich?' She thought. 'Is that what that thing is?'
Everything went black.
"Is she going to be okay, mom?"
Lillianna stared nervously at her friend.
"She's waking up!"
Sparky shook TyLee, desperate to wake her up. Jake placed a paw on his son's arm, telling him to stop. TyLeena opened her eyes, burns ached on her arm, which had been wrapped in bandages.
"What happened?"
"You were attacked," Marceline answered.
"By what?"
"You should get some sleep," Flame Princess said, ignoring her question.
When everyone left the room, TyLee noticed that she was holding something.
Using whatever energy she had left, she lifted her arm.
There, in her hand, was the amulet she had found. It shimmered faintly.
She pulled it over head, adjusting the cord.
TyLee soon drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep.
She heard her mother's voice in her head.
Fionna was telling her about how flaws help make true heroes. TyLee's flaw was a fear of bugs and darkness. Her mother's was a fear of oceans.
Those were happy times, but things are different now.
